Protect and Preserve
With sand mining ended in 2019, the need for continuing concern for Straddie’s environment and future has become clear. Everyone who loves Straddie’s raw and rare natural beauty knows that what used to be called ‘progress’ or ‘economic development’ is lapping at the Island’s shores.
Saving Straddie from real estate speculation and inappropriate development can only be achieved by an alert public, watching, scrutinising and communicating to a broader audience. This website, and our Facebook Page, aim to provide an information base for those of us who are keen to protect and preserve it.
